About the Event
One of our ongoing activities is to hold educational events, such as webinars and symposia, relating to interoperability and information-sharing across the six domains in which NIC primarily works. The most recent was “A Symposium in the NIC of Time: Advancing Information-Sharing in California and Beyond,” which was underwritten by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative and sponsored by NIC in partnership with the California Health and Human Services Agency and the Silicon Valley Regional Data Trust; the invitation-only event was held in Sacramento on March 26-27, 2018.
The 140 attendees heard about innovative interoperability efforts across California, as well as in additional NIC partner states. They also were connected to key project and thought leaders from across the country, and learned about leading-edge activities, concepts, tools and best practices to enhance efficiency, improve outcomes and advance interoperability. The event built on the dozen-plus years of experience with successful state, regional and national symposia organized by the Stewards of Change Institute, which leads NIC along with its partner AcademyHealth.
UPDATE: NIC California Symposium resource materials, including PowerPoint decks, graphic murals, session video and hand-outs have been posted to the NIC Symposium Events page. Feel free to download and share with colleagues!
