The National Interoperability Collaborative is an innovative “Community of Networks” conceived and run by Stewards of Change Institute to increase collaboration among the multiple sectors that impact health, safety and well-being by advancing data-sharing, interoperability, and state-of-the-art technology. We launched NIC four years ago with a generous grant from the Kresge Foundation and, today, we’re proud to say that it has over 1,500 participants across the country and across a broad spectrum of programs, systems and domains.

Our two primary areas of focus in 2022 and 2023 are to: 1) sustain, grow and support the National Interoperability Collaborative’s activities which include regular learning sessions/convenings, innovative product demonstrations, and publications and communications about interoperability and data sharing, and 2) implement demonstration projects which will show how to obtain and manage informed consent for multiple programs through an innovative, open-source, standards-based Consent Service Utility. All our activities are built on the contribution of a diverse, national community of subject matter experts from government, industry, academia and nonprofit associations.
